Yousuf

Foundation

The Qur’an first.
Then everything else.

I am a Hafiz-e-Quran and a student of Dars-e-Nizami. Software is my profession; this is my foundation, and the reason I try to do the profession properly.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ
The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.Sahih al-Bukhari 5027

The journey

A path through the madaris of Karachi

  1. 2019

    Hafiz-e-Quran

    Jamia Ashraf-ul-Madaris, Karachi

Completed hifz at the main markaz in Gulistan-e-Jauhar (Block 12) under Qari Nazeer Ahmed Sahab, and passed the Wifaq-ul-Madaris examination.

  2. After hifz

    Ibtidaiya to Saniah

    Jamia Ashraf-ul-Madaris, Karachi

Continued formal Dars-e-Nizami studies at the same institution, from the first year through Saniah.

  3. Salisah

    Third year

    Dar-ul-Khair, Karachi

Studied Salisah at Dar-ul-Khair in Jauhar.

  4. 2026

    Rabia, the fourth year

    Jamia Hidayah

Currently continuing Dars-e-Nizami in the Rabia year, and preparing to sit the Wifaq-ul-Madaris examination this year, In Sha Allah.

Dars-e-Nizami is the traditional curriculum of the Islamic sciences taught in the madaris of the subcontinent. I am still a student, which is exactly how I like to approach everything.

Languages

Three languages, one voice

Arabic

A language I love and have a working command of.

Urdu

A language I love, and speak comfortably.

English

The language of my software work.

In practice

What it means for my work

Four values I try to bring to every proposal, project and classroom.

أمانة

Amanah

Trust comes first

A client hands us their business data and their confidence. We treat both as a trust, and say plainly what we can and cannot do.

إتقان

Itqan

Do it properly

Excellence is the unglamorous part: permissions, backups, documentation, the edge cases nobody asked about.

صدق

Sidq

Honest estimates

No shortcuts and no unrealistic promises, in a proposal, in a classroom, or in a code review.

علم

Ilm

Knowledge shared grows

Teaching is how I keep learning. What I know is worth most once someone else can use it.

Gratitude

My teachers

Knowledge of the Deen comes through teachers, and through the one who guides the heart. I am thankful to all of them.

Qari Nazeer Ahmed Sahab

Ustaad of my hifz

Jamia Ashraf-ul-Madaris, Karachi, where I became a Hafiz in 2019.

Moulana Irfan Sahab

My ustaad

A teacher I remember with gratitude.

Moulana Raheem-ud-Din Sahab

My ustaad

A teacher I remember with gratitude.

And many other teachers, too many to name here. I am grateful to every one of them.

My islaahi connection

Sheikh-ul-Arab wal-Ajam Moulana Hakeem Muhammad Mazhar Sahab

Damat Barakatuhum

My spiritual guide, whose guidance shapes how I try to live and work.
